A Year To Live Book Study
Time & Location
About the Event
The book asks the question, "What if we knew that we only have a year to live?" Levine spent many years accompanying the dying and saw that many people with a terminal diagnosis found the time before their death to be a time of healing and renewal. He wrote this book with the idea that we learn from this by preparing for our death well ahead of a terminal diagnosis. In Stephen's words, "This book is about renewal. It is not simply about dying but about restoration of the heart, which occurs when we confront our life and death with mercy and awareness. It is an opportunity to resolve our denial of death as well as our denial of life in a year-long experiment in healing, joy, and revitalization."
We will work through the book together, doing a set number of chapters each month. There will be reflection/journalling questions and then we will meet at the end of the month to share our thoughts and to dive deeply into the material together.
The group will start January 29th and continue on the last Wednesday of each month until November 2020--we will find an appropriate date for December closer to the month. We will meet from 7-9 at Affordable Funeral Options in Wortley. The cost will be $10/month, $120, to be paid as a lump sum in January. If you need alternative arrangements speak to me. If you would like to participate please contact me as soon as possible.
