About the Event
Co-facilitated by End of Life Navigator and SoulCollage® Facilitator Shannon Calvert and SoulCollage® Facilitator Rivkah Unland (https://rivkahunland.weebly.com/).
Grief is intense sorrow; a normal and appropriate emotional response to loss and its expression is unique to each person and each situation. We can experience loss and thus grief for many reasons, including the death or disappearance of a person, pet, job, or home. We can grieve for the state of our and other species, and for the planet. We can grieve for the parts of ourselves we have disowned. The losses we feel are unique to us.
In our death-denying, grief phobic culture we tend to avoid what is painful or makes us uncomfortable and in so doing shun the essential experience of being human that deep encounters with loss and grief give us. With societal pressure to “get over” our grief, after time our grief may not even be obvious to us; it can become enmeshed in the fabric of our being and stuck in our bodies.
Creativity, like loss, is also an integral and essential part of the human experience. SoulCollage® is a creative process that uses images, imagination, and intuition to give visual and poetic expression to the many facets of your inner self, life experiences and soul’s journey. SoulCollage® is an amazing vehicle for personal transformation and healing.
In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore loss and grief in your life. We will employ a rich variety of activities including: brief teachings, guided meditations, SoulCollage® cardmaking, journaling and group sharing as you feel so moved. Private consultation may be available throughout the workshop as needed.
